The latest clip from Dark Souls focuses on the Taurus Demon, one of the many bosses players will face once they leave the safety of Firelink Shrine. With the boss appearing early on in the game, it is hardly the toughest threat that players will face when exploring the world. However, what makes it a bit challenging is its arena. The Taurus Demon is a hulking beast that is incredibly tall, yet players are stuck battling it in a thin walkway that does not feel like it was designed to accompany the creature’s size.

While some Dark Souls players will try to climb up to the tower on the wall to give them a circular space to fight the Taurus Demon, or switch between the high and low ground to force its slow jump animation to happen, Redditor mjoh7003 chose to battle the Taurus Demon on the walkway. Despite a lack of space limiting their maneuverability, the Redditor was doing a fine job of dodging under certain attacks and moving away from others. However, something strange soon happened.

Despite only losing about 1/4 of its health, and each swing from mjoh7003’s sword doing small amounts of damage, the Taurus Demon instantly died due to the use of one of its main abilities. As mentioned above, the beast has a jump that it can use to reach the high areas of the arena. For whatever reason, though, the jump triggered when it was facing empty space outside the wall, leading it to fall to its death. While bosses occasionally kill themselves in Elden Ring, FromSoftware’s latest game, it is fun to see how long bugs like that have been around.

Unsurprisingly, the post has performed well with the Dark Souls community, bringing in over 3,500 upvotes in the time since it was posted. In the comments, players pointed out other bosses with a history of falling to their demise, like Iron Golem. Others said that the Taurus Demon was scared of the Redditor and chose to flee, citing the decision to make their character wear no pants as the reason for this. Others pointed out that, while hard to trigger, this glitch has occurred before.

While the original Dark Souls might not be the most difficult FromSoftware game, it still has its challenges. For this Redditor, though, the Taurus Demon was not one of them, as they essentially received its Humanity and a Homeward Bone for free.

Dark Souls: Remastered is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
