After digging around the files of Dark Souls 3, McDonald discovered a cut multiplayer mode with a name that translates as “battle royale.” McDonald explains the discovery in the below YouTube video, but specifically, there are files that make reference to three pieces of cut content: the Ceremony Sword of Darkness, the Ceremony Sword of Flame, and the Ceremony Sword Battle Royale Eclipse....

This week, however, one player managed to finish Dark Souls without collecting so much as a scratch on their character. A group of swordmakers and armorers from Baltimore Knife and Sword took on the challenge of recreating the massive weapon after a request from Dark Souls 3 publisher Bandai Namco. The team was tasked with making an exact replica of the sword, down to the finest detail. As one might imagine, this ended up being a huge job for the blacksmith group. Although the Greatsword of Artorias required a huge amount of work in the forge to make the main body of the sword, the weapon also needed plenty of engravings to make it seem as close to the original as possible....
